Have you ever thought about how great it would be if kids created, watched and shared videos that they like and that help them become better people, instead of the countless hours so many spend being controlled by Big Tech’s algorithms which are clearly designed to serve up content in order to maximize user engagement, irrespective of how that engagement is impacting our kids.
Who is raising our kids? How can we influence our children to make choices with their time that will help them grow and develop into brighter, happier and more productive global citizens?
Understanding motivation helps us understand the dynamics of what’s driving the pervasive social media behavioral patterns that the world is challenged by. There are two different challenging motivational forces conspiring here: the motivation of the social media providers and the motivation of the users themselves (or should I say ourselves!).
The most popular social media companies have one single final-stage metric that all other metrics support. What is it? Money. Making more money. Profit. That’s it in a nutshell. And how do they increase their profits and projected profits? Increased user engagement and total active users. They simply get more users to be more engaged on their platforms for longer periods of time.
Leadership
Greg is a serial entrepreneur with a vast network and the reputation for being a man of his word and for emphasizing and even truly prioritizing efforts in human betterment, even when unpopular to do so. Greg lived in China for five years and speaks Mandarin fluently. He earned his Master's in Educational Psychology and has an extensive career background in Organizational Psychology and SAAS (Software as a Service). Greg is a skilled and strategic project manager, leader and certified SCRUM Master (Agile). Greg lived for a number of years as a full-time resident monk in a series of yoga meditation ashrams and one of his life missions is to develop organizations that can leverage some of the many strengths that were the foundational pillars of the serviceful life himself and his brothers led while living, meditating and serving in the ashrams.
Far more than a mere rocket scientist, Dr. Kartik Ariyur is one of the few remaining generalists. He has solved problems of increasing available energy, reducing inefficiency, overhead, and risk in both engineering and social systems. His research straddles most engineering disciplines, as seen from his publications (with 2807 Google citations /1394 Researchgate citations) and patents in the industry (17 issued and several more pending). He is on the Editorial boards of several reputed journals including IEEE Control Systems Letters. Dr. Ariyur's knowledge and experience span many disciplines from geo-political & economics to algorithms, math and engineering. Kartik earned his PhD in Mechanical & Aerospace engineering from USCD after graduating toward the top of his class from the internationally renowned IIT. He has been a recognized member of Marquis' Who's Who in the World and America for over 15 years. He is the holder of many technological patents: His work on extremum seeking control used in dozens of industries, his pilot filtering algorithms at Qualcomm are running in nearly all cell phones worldwide and his health monitoring algorithms for gas turbine engines are running in 70% of commercial aircraft APUs (auxiliary power units) worldwide, main engines in regional jets, and the Joint Strike Fighter. His threshold algorithms are used in Local Area Augmentation Systems (LAAS) worldwide now. Dr. Ariyur's research straddles most engineering disciplines, besides intersecting with biology, social sciences and humanities, as seen from my publications (24 journal articles, 56 refereed conference articles) and patents in industry (17 US Patents issued) which have 2807 Google citations and 1508 ResearchGate citations. This is because measurement, estimation therefrom, feedback control loops based on these, and system optimization are common to all scientific disciplines. We are truly honored to have Dr. Ariyur as part of our team - he is one of those rare few geniuses that has the potential to make the seemingly unsolvable, solvable and to see and connect the dots of the world's most challenging problems with a breadth and depth that few others (if any) are able to.
Dr. Srinivasan Babu, PhD
Chief ScientistWe are proud to have Dr. Srinivasan Babu on our team! He is a tenacious researcher and is passionate about utilizing his advanced knowledge base and experience to better the world. Dr. Babu is an advanced chemist with a successful performance record of 25 plus years with industry giants such as Pfizer and Genentech. Dr. Babu holds many patents and has authored and published numerous scholarly articles. A gold medal recipient in Chemistry in undergrad, Dr. Babu went on to earn his PhD in Organic Chemistry from Iowa State University. Dr. Babu is a highly accomplished manufacturing chemist. He has developed a CMO Supply chain network to support Development & Manufacture of Regulatory starting materials, API intermediates, API, drug product, packaging/labeling for small molecule API and drug product manufacture of new chemical entities. Proven expertise in outsourcing/external manufacturing, and establishing external collaborations with CMOs worldwide for the entire development supply chain for new chemical entities. This includes regulatory starting materials, c-GMP API, radiolabel API, QC and analytical development, drug product, packaging and labeling, and clinical depots for distribution. Recognized for strategic management and effective in applying “rational interactive leadership principles” approach to leadership.
